Sculptures in Kirkland (Cindy & Pepper Begin Their Thursday-Caching)
April 10, 2003
Excursions to: Kirkland, on the east side of Lake Washington.
Pepper (of Team Supergenius) and I will be meeting up for caching each week, and our first few weeks will be spent on LucyandRickie's Pieces of the Puzzle series.
Kirkland Sculpture Walk, Pieces of the Puzzle #4
On this rainy day, Pepper & Cin begin their Thursday-Caching. :)
Pepper is in front of the starting point for this cache, which was a cache with pictures and crayons.
This was a multicache art tour, where we walked from sculpture to sculpture in Kirkland. This sculpture is called "Puddlejumpers."
The next sculpture was next to the docks.
This wasn't on the official tour, but it was one of several other bronze sculptures we saw that day.
Another picture to color...
Pepper stands behind the final clue, in front of the Kirkland Public Library. Now we've collected the coordinates for the final cache location!
We still stopped at one more sculpture -- not our favorite. The women in this piece of art are disturbingly emaciated....perhaps for emphasis? The name of the sculpture was "The Gossips" (or something close to that).
To log our find, we had to color in the pictures or draw our own. We sat at a picnic table to look at the lake (with a few mountains peeking through the clouds in the distance).
Pepper took this photo of me at the final cache. I had to brace myself to keep from sliding down the small hill.
