The Scrabble Cache, Pieces of the Puzzle II
Pepper and I set off to get all 5 waypoints, but we only succeeded in getting 2. We did, however, get very very very very wet and soggy (after bushwhacking through a dense forest on a rainy day).
Here's a copy of our logged notes from the cache page. What Cindy Wrote: Well, Pepper and I set off to complete this cache today, but even the best made plans....We got onto the totally wrong trailhead, then saw a side path heading in the direction we knew we needed to be. Cool! (we think), we'll just take this and end up on the right trail.
After an hour of mud-slipping, pricklybush-stinging, bushwhacking, we finally beat our way down to the lakeshore (and to the trail that we knew was there). We did come out right near waypoint 1 -- grabbed it, then headed up the trail (the right one this time) to get #2.
Of course, most of this took place in a downpour. We came out soaked, dripping wet, and covered with bits of branches. But we've still got smiles on our faces and laughed through the tough stuff.
We'll be back soon to finish this one off!
What Pepper Wrote: Yep what Cindy said. I'm still cold, my hair is still wet, pour toes(sooo cold), hands still frozen and can you even imagine this being fun?
Most people would think us crazy, but were just cachers.
Wild when ya think about it.
Time to warm up.
Pepper
This is the type of undergrowth/brambles that we came through. It was tough to take a photo without steaming up the lens (which is why this is all foggy).
After making it down to the beach trail, a soggy Pepper checks her GPS. We found the first waypoint soon after.
Of course, the next day was filled with glorious sunshine and blue skies. Pepper and I decided to head out again, this time getting a few easier caches.
These are sculptures made of recycled submarine fins. They made a long row in the park where we grabbed Kite Hill cache.
And yes, there was a hill...with people flying kites.
A virtual cache in the same park had us scraping sand off of a tile mosaic. We finally found the Kalakala Kid Kache.
Pepper points to the tile of the Kalakala (a historic ferry in the Puget Sound).
