All-Day Caching

August 3 and 5, 2003

Excursions to: North Puget Sound (with Jeff) and Seattle's Green Lake (with the Peanut Butter Brigade)

Point Williams Light

Jeff and I struck out on this cache. We couldn't find the trail leading to it, so we'll have to go back sometime soon. We did struggle down the bluffs to the beautiful beach, with its spectacular view of the Puget Sound.

The cache is located on Samish Island, jutting out into the Sound. Most of the land is privately owned, but there's one small strip of public access.

Jeff waves from in front of the lower bluffs (they're actually taller than they look in this photo).

The tip of the point has a light (not a lighthouse, just a light). You can see a large ship in the background.

Padilla Bay Uplands

We strolled along a nature walk in a grasslands preserve. Jeff braved the honeybee tree to get this cache. Cindy stayed back, picking blackberries and admiring the view of the Sound.

Little Church on the "Prairie"

Not really a prairie at all, but still a very picturesque and historic church surrounded by old gravestones.

Jeff and I took a break to eat a late lunch. The microcache was hidden in the background trees.

Cindy's boots are holding up well, even if they have turned to brown (instead of grey) from the dust from the cedar chips' trails out here.

Yes, I'm proud of my cool boots! :)

Nellie Does Green Lake

Donna, Pepper, and Cindy spent an entire Tuesday doing a challenging multi-microcache. It is one of the more difficult around the area, and we're the only ones so far who've finished it in one day!

Green Lake is a park located in Seattle. The park rings the perimeter of the lake, with a walking/cycling path and more.
