WWII Military Battery

Excursions to: a historical state park on Whidbey Island

Battery 248 Multi-cache

What a fun time we had at this old military post!

You can tell that the rain is moving in. Normally, there would be a clear shot of the strait and the Olympic Peninsula.

We collected information from the maps and signs outside, then went into the dry...but very dark...cement bunkers.

Jeff and Randy get the information we need to continue.

The entrance to the military battery/bunker.

We had flashlights inside, and whenever I took a photo my flash briefly lit up the interior.

Randy has a spotty shirt from the rain outside.

Jeff finds the clue on the wall of one of many rooms.

It was a spooky, but really fun, place to search.

The sign outside gave details about Battery 248.

Close-up of the text on the sign.

Continue on to Endor Geocache.

Or, return to Ebey Landing Beach | Ferry Ride | Geocaching Journal.
