Excursions to: a ravine behind a nice neighborhood in Maple Valley (south King County)

Rock Creek

We hit this one near the end of the day, and our camera didn't do well with the darkening woods. Indeed, most of the photos were black -- I used photoshop to lighten them up.

Here's Jeff heading down the trail into the ravine.

This was an off-leash area, so Aurie once again led the way (she loves that!).

Cindy makes her way between the moss-covered trees.

The creek was really beautiful, surrounded by ferns and huge trees.

The cache was in a a hollow near the roots of this huge tree.

Here's the hollow -- big enough for a couple of people to take shelter. The big trees out here are amazing.

This neat sculpture was near the trailhead (in the yard of someone's house).
