Parks & Trails in Indiana (part 1)

May 22, 2003

Excursions to: city parks and a wilderness area near Lafayette, Indiana

Riding with the King

I was lucky enough to receive a rental car upgrade...to a beautiful silver Mustang convertible! There's just nothing like caching with the top down.

This was one of 2 caches from large parks in small towns.

Wow, look at that wonderful sight in the side mirror (no roof!). I had a great time driving on the country roads that day.

The trailhead was directly in front of the car.

I spent quite a bit of time at this cache site but still had to log a DNF (did not find). Turns out the cache had been lost in a flood a week or two before.

However, I still enjoyed the treat of a pretty view.

The cache had originally been hidden in the ledges behind the waterfall.

P.A.

Then it was on to the next spot -- a cache in a nature preserve. I took a trail that wound through the woods.

Eventually, I ended up winding along (and through) some wonderful bluffs. The water dripped down on me from above, keeping me cool on such a warm afternoon.

Continue on to part2 of my geocaching in Indiana.
