Snoqualmie Pass, Part 2

Excursions to: trails and caches in the Cascades

Avalanche Shed

Once we had the cache near the tunnel, we continued on a few miles to get our 3rd cache of the day. The next several pictures are from the views along the way.

There were several picturesque streams tumbling down the steep slopes.

We kept taking photos.

There was a lot of haze in the air that day, and my photos of the mountains came out a bit blurry or (like this one) had an odd sheen on the snow.

The trail was great -- wide, graveled, and level the entire way (no elevation change).

Mountains flanked us on either side.

After a couple of miles, we spot the "avalanche shed" ahead on the trail.

This was a really neat dead tree near the shed.

Pepper and Michele get inside the shelter, and begin to look for the cache.

Afterward, we trudged back about 4.5 miles to the car. Phew! We were sore and tired after our 9+ mile hike.

Return to part 1 or head back to the Geocaching Journal.
