Excursions to: The Center for Wooden Boats, in Seattle

CWB

It was a beautiful day, so Pepper & I decided to get in a couple of caches. Our first stop took us to the Center for Wooden Boats, on Lake Union in Seattle.

Many wonderful wooden boats were on display, some being reconstructed and others built as replicas.

Pepper poses in front of one that reminded her of her grandfather's shrimp boat.

A neat old steam-powered boat.

Many boats are taken out on the water, and some are rented. The Center itself is FREE!

Our task was to find 4 boats, and get clues that would lead to the final cache coordinates.

One of the clues was on a sign on this oarhouse.

Note the cool oar-shaped weathervane on top.

Next to the Center is an airport for hydroplanes.

Urban Oasis

After we found the cache and signed the log, we drove downtown to get a virtual cache. We had to figure out where an old cache had been hidden, take a photo, then get it approved by the cache owner (all before logging the find).
