Two Caches at Twin Lakes Park, part I

November 30, 2002

Excursions to: a park near Smokey Point (north of Everett, Washington)

Twin Lakes Park, just off I-5

There are two geocaches at this park, so we decided to bring a picnic lunch and take a nice stroll.

A funky shot of the sun and its reflection on one of the two lakes.

Jeff and Aurie head toward the picnic tables that are set up on the narrow strip of land between the two twin lakes.

Jeff gets the picnic supplies out.

Backward, a two-step cache

After eating, we headed toward the cache. The first part was a piece of wood stuck in a hollow at the base of this tree. The coordinates were written backwards (forwards, if you're looking in a mirror).

Cindy sits on the ground and deciphers the coordinates for the actual cache.

This was a beautiful spot, especially considering it's right next to the I-5 freeway! The views today were incredible, and you could even see the mountains reflected in the water.

Another pretty picture as we come round the lake and head to the actual cache.

Continue on to see the cool hiding place and some more photos of us at the park.
