Another Day at the Beach

Excursions to: Richmond Park Beach, North of Seattle

A Day at the Beach, a multi-cache

We headed to another beach this weekend. It wasn't as private as last week's, but it was still a nice spot to visit.

This is a large sculpture near the picnic area, overlooking the beach.

After parking, we headed down a path that led over the top of railroad tracks. You can see the overpass through the trees.

Our first clue for the multi-cache was to count the number of tracks.

Once over the tracks, the beach opens up to a wonderful vista.

As we walked down the path, we watched some men trying to get their parasails into the air (they never did get things going while we were there). They have large skateboard looking things to stand on -- sort of like snowboarding, but on water with sails.

Another clue was found in the directional stand -- it was one of those things with arrows pointing at and identifying the mountains that can be seen from the beach.

We got a direction from this, then headed to our next clue.

Back to the statue! The next clue was on the plaque for a bench near the statue.

Unfortunately, the plaque to the statue is all worn away, so we have no idea what this is called or when it was erected.

Aurie explores some bushes near the beach.

Cindy and Aurie explore while Jeff figures the cache coordinates, based on the clues we found.

Jeff does some quick calculations.

Jeff drinks from our canteen as we head down the beach to the geocache.

Cindy has to hang on to the log and dive down for the cache beneath it.

She pulls it out and we leave stuff and take stuff.

Jeff signs the geocache log.

One last look at the sun on the water before we head home.
