Deception Pass Bridge

October 21, 2002

Excursions to: Deception Pass, on the north end of Whidbey Island, Washington

Welcome to Whidbey Island, a postcard geocache under the Deception Pass Bridge

We hiked down below the south end of the bridge, into the woods, and found the cache quite easily.

Cindy shows the postcards -- this is a geocache stocked with postcards of the scenery nearby (no trading, just take a postcard and log your visit).

We sent a postcard from here to our nephew and niece.

The sun was setting on us, as you can see from the orange light. The bridge is visible through the trees to the right.

The view east from the bridge.

The view west from the bridge. The waters in Deception Pass are notorious -- whirlpools, rapids, and nasty undertows.

A photo of the sun setting to the west of the bridge.

Another shot through the trees to the side of the bridge.
