Games & Skateboarding
Excursions to: Two Parks in Lynnwood, Washington
Game Cache
Our second geocache of the day was a few miles away, this time in a park filled with hiking trails.
The cache had a "game" theme -- take and leave something to do with games.
We found the coordinates, but weren't sure where to look...so many trees, so many hiding places...
So we deciphered the clue, which told us to look for a tree with "cleats."
We saw these two trees, and now we know what "cleats" means. :)
The cache was tucked in at the base of the tree. Cindy makes the find!
There weren't many game themed things in there, but we left some dice to go with the playing cards and kids pencil games (the rest of the stuff was mostly junk).
Jeff signed the log book, and we were on our way to the next (and last) geocache of the day.
Board in the Woods
This time we were at a different sort of park -- a skateboarding park!
The geocaching was off to the side, along the walking trails in the woods. Just about every park around here has forest areas with trails -- you'd never believe that you were surrounded by cities and towns once you get into those dense forests.
Here Jeff sits in a clearing and tries to figure out the clue. This time our printer had bungled up a word..we knew we were looking for something to do with where something (w___kers) ate.
Aha! After about 30 minutes, Cindy spots a cool tree and thinks, "neat -- there must be a lot of woodpeckers around here for that old trunk to be so full of holes..."
Duh! Woodpeckers! That's the missing word!
We finally find the cache. It was tucked in beneath wood along this dead tree.
Once again, a glamorous shot of Cindy's legs next to the cache.
We left Nook the Husky, a travel bug making its way to Alaska.
