Hiking to the Beach, Part I

A Hike in the Woods and Along a Small Salmon Stream

Meadowdale County Park, the 1-Mile Hike Down

We started at what looked like a small park...but ended up being a trail down through beautiful forests, past the ranger station and picnic area, to a beach on the Puget Sound.

This was a multi-cache with two clues to find, then some figuring out of coordinates for the final cache.

The trail wound down and into the trees...

We were in deeply shaded areas that were still a bit misty from the morning. Here's a shot of the forest with the sun trying to shine through.

There's not a lot of the original big trees left in this park. Here's an old trunk that showed fire or lightning scarring.

You can still see many of the leftover stumps from logging. This one has a new tree growing from it.

And here's another, this time with Jeff and Aurie posed in front so you'll get a sense of the size.
