Two Geocaches Near Snoqualmie

Excursions to: Snoqualmie Bike Trail & Snoqualmie Valley Trail

Snoqualmie Valley Trail, near Snoqualmie Falls (Washington)

We started searching for the trailhead, and Cindy ate a bunch of blackberries (all of those brambles along the parking areas were full of ripe berries).

Finally found the starting point...and off we go...

The woods to either side are dripping with moss.

Here's the wonderful view from the trellis bridge (which we forgot to get a photo of).

If you look down, you can see the stream tumbling over rocks below. There were many waterfalls and rapids -- we'll have to go back when the water is higher.

We headed down toward the rushing stream, and found the cache beneath a moss-covered felled tree. The ferns and trees are lush and beautiful in here.

Cindy opens the geocache.

We left one of Jeff's Mystery Music CDs.

We took our first Travel Bug -- Pecan, a stuffed bear on its way to Yellowstone.

Another first -- Cindy's first slugs! (Cindy is from arid, slugless country)

Yes, there are two slugs there. Yes, they were indeed mating.

Later, when we were almost back to the car, we saw another one -- bright orange!

Welcome to Snoqualmie, in Snoqualmie, WA

This wasn't a tough hike, but it was a more difficult find than the 1 rating suggested.

We meandered on winding mountain-biking trails, finally finding the geocache off to the side (and back toward the main road).

Jeff reads the sign on the inside of the lid.

We took some Mac software; left a Mystery CD.

Afterward, we headed toward North Bend for great burgers and fries at the Twin Peaks' "RR" (okay, so now it's called Twede's).

We were pretty tired, but the neon interior woke us up!

Once we got home, Aurie just pooped out. We gave her a chewy treat, but she just fell asleep on top of it!
