BEACON HILL September 22, 2002 Excursion to: Boston, Massachusetts, near the start of the Freedom Trail (Boston Commons)

Beacon Hill Cache, in Boston, Massachusetts During a quick trip to Boston, Cindy had one day to see the sights and work in a geocaching adventure.   Here's a shot of the nearby neighborhood.
Oddly enough, it can be as difficult to get good GPS readings in the city as it is in the woods of the northwest -- you need open areas that aren't too surrounded by tall buildings. I lost the Beacon Hill signal a few times because there were so many awnings open over the sidewalk.   However, I finally found my way to this meeting house -- the geocache was inside an empty flowerpot on the steps.
Unfortunately, the geocache was empty of all but the logbook. At least I got to sign my name! I also left one of Jeff's Mystery CDs.           You can see more photos of my trip in my photo album.
