Cindy & Her Friend Beth Go Hiking
Another Excursion to the Snoqualmie Falls Area
The Other Side of the Falls, near Snoqualmie, WA
My friend Beth and I decided to try a fairly mellow hike to a little-known view of the Falls. The toughest part of this was figuring out where to start. We ended up grabbing the trail (which is a local walking/biking/rollerblading path) a bit further back than was suggested. All told, the hike was about 6 miles.
Here's Aurie at the point where we started.
The hike took us mostly through forested area (surprise, surprise), but there were beautiful views of the Cascades from time to time.
At the end of the hike there are a few pretty benches (and a portapotty, woo hoo!).
This is the view from the benches. The waterfalls are quite low right now, but mountains and the lodge were really spectacular.
Here's a close-up of the (Twin Peaks) lodge with Snoqualmie Falls just below.
After reaching the end, our next task was to find the cache. It was tough to do, with all of the tree coverage.
Finally, we tried thinking "if I were a jar, where would I hide?"
Take a look at the photo -- where do you think it was?
And....voila!
We left a small, globe-shaped, squishy ball from an old educational software company (both Beth & I had been affiliated with it in the past).
