spots for tea in seattle and the puget sound

Visiting Seattle and wondering where to go for tea? Then this is the site for you! You've found Cindy's guide to "taking tea" in Seattle and the Puget Sound. I'll regularly update the information here, but for the most recent news and reviews see my Cup of Tea and a Blog.

I. Tea Guides & Reviews

Mine is by no means a guide of every possible tearoom in Washington. I'm exploring tearooms and tea shops at a leisurely pace. Listed below are the places I turn for guidance:

TeaGuide online tearoom directory, with patron reviews. I've been trying to update the reviews for places I've visited.

Washington Tearooms, tearoom listings, reviews, maps.

Tea Rooms Northwest, a book by Sharron and John de Montigny, has become a standard for northwesterners who love trying tea rooms. There’s definitely a British tea/Red Hat Society slant to this, but it’s a useful guide. It can also serve as a journal, with space for owner's signatures and your own notes.

NWSource is a good place to find reviews, maps, and restaurants. You can click the "nearby" link to find venues close to each other -- very useful feature. This spring they rated the Top Spots for Tea.

Teamail, a friendly e-mail list for those who love tea. There are conversations to be had with sippers and purveyors from around the world.

Cup of Tea and a Blog, where I post reviews and other tea-related writings.

Geocaching: another of my past-times is geocaching, a sport that combines treasure hunting with technology. Just in case there are any other cachers out there, I've provided links to nearby geocaches for many of these spots. Click on the geocaching icon to find the cache listing.
